Warlord of the Wasteland

Warlord of the Wasteland Miniature

Based on the artwork Aaron Eldridge has done for the last couple Wasteland Wars, the Warlord of the Wasteland concept was sent to miniature sculptor Nicolas Genovese, who was contracted to sculpt the green. When that was finished, the green went to the awesome folks at Reaper. They made the master mold, master copies, and the production mold, which finally led to the casting of metal miniatures of the Warlord of the Wasteland. I'm not all that much into limited edition miniatures, but the initial casting lot for this was only 50 pieces. We will do another casting run if demand requires it, but there won't be that many of these miniatures around!

The Warlord of the Wasteland is approximately 32 mm tall, and in Warhammer terms will fit in quite nicely in a Warriors of Chaos army. It was sculpted and produced in GW style with a metal tab to fit in a slotta base. This tab can be easily removed to stand the Warlord on any style base. The Warlord's axe (and hands) are a separate piece, and must be glued in place.

This year's miniature painting contest at Wasteland Wars 7 will include a special category which contains only one miniature - the Warlord of the Wasteland. The rules are simple:

  1. The only miniature accepted in this category is the Special Edition 2010 Warlord of the Wasteland.
  2. Anyone who purchases a Warlord of the Wasteland miniature is eligible to enter it in the painting contest.
  3. You do NOT have to be a registered player at WW7 to enter your Warlord in the contest.
  4. The miniature does have to be physically present during WW7 for display and judging (no photographs).
  5. The Warlord should not be heavily modified or converted. Minor modification is allowed. Serious conversions to the miniature will result in it being placed in the Warhammer small miniature painting category (if eligible).
  6. The miniature comes with a 25mm square slotta base - this does not have to be used. The Warlord can be based in any way you think best represents its awesomeness.
  7. You may enter multiple times, but you will only be eligible for one prize.

Our panel of painting judges will determine the top three entries, and the first place winner will receive $100 and a Warlord trophy. That's one hundred dollars cash - not store credit, not buy one get one free Arby's coupons, but a crisp, fresh $100 bill. Second place will receive $50 and a plaque, Third place gets $25 and a plaque.
