Warhammer Fantasy

Warhammer 40k

*NEW* Painting Contest

We are happy to announce an individual miniature painting competition for Wasteland Wars 6. There will be two divisions - Warhammer Fantasy and 40K. Each division will have two categories, which basically comes down to small or large. The two categories for Warhammer are:

  • Individual models on a cav base or smaller (20, 25mm)
  • Large - 40mm base or larger

Both categories are for single models - not dioramas or units. And yes, a dragon with a rider counts as a single model... The two categories for 40K are very similar:

  • Individual models on a 40mm base or smaller
  • Monstrous creature/vehicle

Again, single models, please.

The competition is open to WW6 players only. You may enter any or all of the divisions/categories, regardless of which game you are registered to play. We ask only one entry per each one, though. So two categories with two divisions means four entries maximum. We know a lot of people like to enter models from the armies they brought to play, and while we aren't saying this is forbidden, we would advise against it only because the miniatures need to be on display throughout the entire tournament, for us to judge and everyone else to admire. For this year, we're sorta restricting it to GW models. (Yes, GW includes Forgeworld...) If we get a good turnout and response from people, we may include an "open" category later on for non-GW minis. Conversions are allowed, so long as it's based on a GW model. The emphasis of the competition, however, is on painting. The three judges are experienced modellers/painters, and will be looking for painting skill and overall technique.

There is no additional fee to participate in the painting competition.

Judging will be done just like paint scoring for the armies of the tournament - three judges will record their scores for each entry, and these scores will be averaged. Plaques, ribbons and prizes will be awarded.
